What do you like about teaching dance hen parties in Brighton?
I always look forward to coaching hen parties as every group is different and everyone just wants to have a good time. The reward is teaching a group of hens a full routine; seeing confidence build throughout the session; watching them perform it at the end and most importantly everyone having a lot of fun and enjoying themselves...some groups even come in fancy dress which is always fun.
What is your favourite hen party moment?
One of my favourite hen party moments is the Dirty Dancing lift. It’s a special moment for the bride to be and involves all of her hens. It’s a great photo opportunity too as it is quite an achievement and looks amazing.
What dance experience have you had?
I trained at Bird College, gaining a National Diploma in Dance and Theatre performance. I love musical theatre and have performed in a range of shows including Bat Boy, Kiss me Kate, Little shop of Horrors, Jack the Ripper and Elle Wood’s Legally Blonde (Studio Theatre). A highlight for me was landing a part in the International No.1 tour of ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ which was such an exciting job. I have also done a range of film & TV work including dancing in music videos, featuring in an International Television Advert for ‘Claireabella’, as well as playing the role of ‘Cassie’ in the UK Comedy Feature Film ‘The Catch’, due for release in 2013.
Who are your dance inspirations?
Michael Jackson from an early age has been an inspiration to me for his dancing and his performance. Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers i could never get tired of watching them dance. Other dancers/Performers that have always inspired me: Bob Fosse, Britney Spears, Catherine Zeta Jones, Rudolf Nureyev, Margot Fonteyn, to name but a few. And of course, my dance teachers whilst i was in training were massive inspirations to me.
