What are your top 3 favourite Cheerleading Company dance hen parties in London?
- Dirty Dancing hen party - Everyone loves the songs, and the hen gets to do the famous Dirty Dancing lift at the end, which is always such a great finale!
- Bollywood hen party - It is sooo much fun, and one of our new parties. Most hen groups haven't tried bollywood dance before and it's great to introduce them to it. I've become hooked to it myself!
- Single Ladies hen party - An obvious choice! Who doesn’t want to shake and shimmy like Beyonce??!
What is the best thing about being a hen party dance teacher?
I have been teaching dance hen parties for The Cheerleading Company for over 3 years now and I always love it! It never feels like work as I always feel like I am part of the hen party! I love making someone’s hen do special and really enjoy chatting to the brides to be about their big day! My favourite moment was teaching a Dirty Dancing hen party and when the hens did the big lift at the end they got all emotional and were crying (happy tears) and hugging each other – it was very sweet.
How did you get into teaching dance & cheerleading?
I was a cheerleader for 2 years with a pro basketball team which was so much fun & got me interested in teaching dance and cheerleading. I then studied a 4 year BA(Hons) in Dance and Culture with Professional Training year at the University of Surrey. I worked for a year with Phoenix Dance Theatre in Leeds which fuelled my passion for teaching dance and went on to tour the UK with a contemporary dance company. Whilst touring, I taught dance lessons and workshops all over the country. I continue to teach contemporary dance classes in London and I also dance professionally with two contemporary dance companies and more recently, a Bollywood dance troupe – needless to say, I am always very excited about our Bollywood dance hen parties!
