What better way to celebrate a hen do than with an 80's themed dance hen party! Surely every bride loves dancing to the music of the 80's. So hens, put your fluorescent legwarmers on, grab a scrunchie and get ready to party as we go back in time and take a tour of the rad dance crazes of the 1980’s. In the 80's hen party we'll dance to Wham, Cyndi Lauper, Rick Astley, Michael Jackson's Thriller dance, Fame to name but a few. There's even a 1980's comedy breakdancing session to Vanilla Ice - you won't be able to stop laughing! And, once you've remembered all of the 80's dance moves, we'll put them into practise as you learn a routine to Flashdance in a big 80's style dance break! This really is the ultimate 80's hen party!

80's Choreographer: Cece
I started loving the 80s in the naughties when I first discovered films like Footloose, The Breakfast Club, Fame and Flashdance. They fast became my favourite films because they showcase the funky dance moves of the time which completely influence dance today. Lets face it the 80s dance styles were a law unto themselves. They were just so original and so much fun, which makes them perfect to do in our hen parties because they’ll have you in stitches.
So I choreographed a fun tour of the dance crazes of the 80s especially for our hen groups. The dance tour covers all the different 80s dance styles, from funky hip hop, to lyrical dance, so as you can imagine it’s really varied and there is a fun dance style for everyone. If the bride loves the 80s then she will love this! It’s absolutely hilarious and set to fun 80s dance tracks. . I’ve purposely kept it fun and fresh because i was designing this 80s dance class for hen groups and I know it’s all about having a laugh and coming together with a group dance routine. Without giving away everything, because it’s fun to have a few little surprises for the bride (nice ones!) you’ll boogie to Wham, Cindi Lauper, and I wana live forever! Expect to roll around on the floor with feeling of course, step bull change or split leap across the room, and fame pose it out, before getting your cool jacket on with the running man, robot and the electric wave. And no 80s dance tour would be complete without a look at the king of pop MJ himself. Now I know we have a Thriller dance hen party but Thriller was such a milestone for 80s dance and music videos that I couldn’t resist it so we also get our Thriller on in the 80s dance hen party ; )
I hope you enjoy it and I look forward to seeing the photos!

What do you love about teaching hen parties in London?
Teaching dance hen parties has to be the most fun, and most rewarding job I have ever had! Not only do I get to have such a laugh with the hens and spend my time dancing around, which I love, it is so rewarding to be a part of the bride's special day, to make memories for her, and make all the hens feel a sense of achievment whilst they have such a fun time in the dance session. My favourite moment of the hen party is when the bride gives me a hug and tells me what a wonderful time she has had in the dance class. The bride and hens are always so lovely and so grateful.

80's Hen Party costume ideas
For an 80's hen do costume think neon or flourescent fabrics. Yes for the 80's hen party costume look, the idea really is to throw on as many multi-coloured neon items as you can.
If you have legwarmers, scrunchies, headbands that would be perfect. If you don’t then it’s very easy to find neon items online, in fact ebay is full of them. Of course they are also in places like Claire’s accessories too!
There are many different looks to the 80's but the neon legwarmers, tops and leggins are our favourite and of course if anyone has a 'Frankie says relax' t-shirt that would be totally rad for an 80's hen party costume!
80's Hair and Make up
I think it’s time for that fuchsia pink lippy! For the 80's hen party costume think bold for your make up. Slap on the bright pink lipstick, pink blusher and go heavy on the eyeliner. Fluorescent colours would be fab as would glitter! Mess your hair up and don’t use the straightners the 80's was about big hair!
80's Footwear Ideas
Bare feet or flat shoes would be great for the 80's party.
Hope our Cheerleading Company costume tips help you find your dance hen party outfits & we can't wait to see your costume photos : )
